Upadacitinib Shows Promising Hair Regrowth in Severe Alopecia Areata Trials

Two phase III trials of the JAK inhibitor upadacitinib (Rinvoq) demonstrated significant hair regrowth in patients with severe alopecia areata, with results appearing superior to earlier JAK inhibitors. The drug is already approved for other conditions. These findings could lead to a new treatment option for this autoimmune hair loss disorder.
