Kaitlyn Santa Juana and Cast Set for Road-Trip Dramedy 'The Jam Van'
Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Maclean Fish, and Nikki Roumel will lead the road-trip dramedy 'The Jam Van', with additional cast members announced. Production begins in Winnipeg at the end of August. The film follows a dysfunctional pop punk band.
The project represents Alec Carlos's first turn in the director's chair, with him co-authoring the screenplay alongside producer Peter Roumeliotis. Supporting the main trio are Madison MacIsaac, Cassandra Potenza, and Dom Bergeron.
Shooting is slated to start in late August in Winnipeg. The producing roster includes Jordan Connor and Kyle Guerrero, with Helen Roumeliotis and Santa Juana also contributing as producers.
The film could appeal to fans of character-driven music dramas, offering a fresh take on the classic road-trip trope. Its production in Winnipeg may bolster the local film industry and provide opportunities for regional crew members. Additionally, casting actors from popular streaming series could attract a younger demographic, potentially influencing how similar indie projects are marketed and discovered in the current entertainment landscape.
