Dillon Brooks Signs Three-Year Extension with Phoenix Suns After Career Year
Dillon Brooks has agreed to a three-year contract extension with the Phoenix Suns. Brooks averaged a career-high 20.2 points per game in his first season with the team. The deal locks him in for three additional seasons.
The three-year pact is worth $73 million. Brooks, who turned 30 in January, posted shooting splits of 43.5% from the field and 34.4% from beyond the arc. He arrived in Phoenix last July via the seven-team Kevin Durant trade, following tenures in Memphis and Houston.
A fractured left hand in February interrupted his season. The Suns began 33-24 with him, but went 12-13 later, slipping into the Play-In and getting swept by Oklahoma City. Phoenix remains $4.8 million under the second apron for the upcoming campaign.
This extension could stabilize Phoenix's competitive window, giving fans a reliable scoring presence alongside Devin Booker. For the wider NBA, it may signal that established veterans can secure lucrative deals after career-best seasons. The Suns' tight cap constraints could limit roster depth, potentially shaping playoff outcomes and fan expectations.
