Eclipse cruise on Mediterranean relied on satellite data to find clear skies, says meteorologist

A total solar eclipse cruise aboard the ship Le Boréal in the Mediterranean succeeded thanks to weather satellite data that helped the captain maneuver to a clear spot. The ship's meteorologist, Joe Rao, worked with the captain to avoid clouds near the horizon during the sunset eclipse. The cruise, which departed from Nice, France, carried over 200 passengers who were there specifically to see the eclipse.
