Peru quake injures three, damages dozens of buildings in southern region

A magnitude 6.7 earthquake hit southern Peru on Thursday, injuring three people and damaging at least 22 homes, six schools, and 12 medical centers, according to initial assessments. The tremor, centered near Upahuacho at a depth of 99 kilometers, was felt in Lima and other regions, prompting evacuations in Andean towns. Authorities deployed emergency teams to Puquio and Coracora, while a 4.2-magnitude aftershock followed later in the day.
