Scottish villages rally against massive data centre proposals

A proposed 600MW data centre in Auchtertool, Fife, has drawn 1,600 formal objections from residents, prompting Scottish lawmakers to consider a moratorium on such developments. The facility, which would cover an area larger than 100 football pitches, has raised concerns about resource consumption, as Scotland is energy- and water-rich while parts of England face drought. Local MSP David Torrance said he had never witnessed such opposition in his 25-year political career.
