NBA 2K27 Unveils Co-Ed City and Gameplay Upgrades
NBA 2K27 is set to release on August 26 for Deluxe and Ultra editions, with the standard version following on September 4. The game introduces a first-ever co-ed City mode, allowing male and female MyPLAYERS to compete together across all modes. Gameplay enhancements include expanded dribbling customization, a new dunk meter, and more physical defense mechanics.
EXPANDED:
The co-ed City marks a structural shift for the franchise, as female MyPLAYERS will now compete across every mode within that hub—from The REC and Park to Proving Grounds and Ante-Up—though they remain exclusive to The City rather than appearing in other game areas. This integration pairs with a deep customization catalog for both male and female avatars, reinforcing the mode's expanded scope.
On the court, 2K has reworked several core mechanics. A new timing- and logic-based dunk meter activates when defenders contest at the rim, while a layup tool addresses ball clipping issues. Defensive cutoffs and an updated collision system force offenses to pick their spots, and expanded dribbling options
