College Baseball to Adopt Automated Strike Challenges in 2027

The NCAA has approved the use of an automated ball-strike challenge system for all levels of collegiate baseball starting in 2027. The system, previously tested in the SEC tournament and used in Major League Baseball, allows teams to challenge pitch calls with limited attempts. Additional rule changes include optional 18-inch bases, a required double first base, and a 30-second timer between batters at the Division I level.
