Progressive candidate secures Democratic nomination for Oklahoma Senate

N'Kiyla Jasmine Thomas, a nurse and self-described democratic socialist, won Oklahoma's Democratic Senate primary runoff. She beat attorney Jim Priest, who had argued a moderate candidate would have a better chance in the Republican-leaning state. Thomas advocates for Medicare for All and universal childcare.
