Savinho's creative output remains vital despite reduced role

Savinho's playing time at Manchester City dropped sharply after Antoine Semenyo arrived in January, yet he still recorded eight Premier League assists, all from open play, in just 1,773 minutes. His 0.41 open-play assists per 90 ranked third in the league, and only Mohamed Salah created more chances per 90 than Savinho's 2.2.

Savinho’s reduced minutes at Manchester City since Antoine Semenyo’s January arrival have not diminished his influence when on the pitch. Across 1,773 Premier League minutes, the winger produced eight assists, all from open play, underscoring his directness and creativity in settled attacks. His rate of 0.41 open-play assists per 90 minutes placed him third in the division, while only Mohamed Salah generated more chances per 90 than his 2.2. The numbers suggest a player whose output remains elite even as squad rotation and competition for places have grown.

The arrival of Semenyo appears to have shifted City’s tactical balance, yet Savinho’s efficiency in limited time highlights his value as a game-changer off the bench or in rotated lineups. His ability to create from wide areas without set-piece reliance makes him a unique asset, particularly in tight matches where City need incision. With the season’s run-in approaching, his per-minute productivity could prove decisive in squad management and title challenges.
