Carvell Signs with Rosenzweig Group for Management
Jason Alan Carvell, known for playing Malcolm X in MGM+'s 'Godfather of Harlem,' has signed with The Rosenzweig Group for management. He joined the series in Season 3 and returned for Seasons 4 and 5. The agency will represent him across all areas.
Carvell’s portrayal of Malcolm X places him opposite Forest Whitaker’s crime boss in the MGM+ drama, a role that began in the show’s third season and continued through its fifth. The network describes his character as a radical preacher who, after leaving the Nation of Islam, faces threats from former allies and federal agencies. His new representation with The Rosenzweig Group covers all areas of his career, including voice work. The agency recently added another historical drama actor, George Blagden, to its roster.
This management signing may signal increased industry attention on actors who bring historical figures to life in prestige cable dramas. For Carvell, it could open doors to broader film and voice projects, potentially raising his profile among casting directors. Audiences may see more diverse storytelling as such representation expands, though the immediate impact is limited to career moves rather than wider cultural shifts.
