Ohio State Unveils $142,700 Field-Level Suites
Ohio State has installed new premium field-level suites in the south end zone of Ohio Stadium, priced at $142,700 each and accommodating up to 12 people with eight standing-room spots. The suites, still under construction before the Sept. 5 opener, include access to the 1922 Club with all-inclusive food and drink. The Buckeyes enter the season ranked No. 1 in the AP Top 25.
The nine field-level suites represent part of a broader renovation effort at Ohio Stadium, which also includes 400 premium chairback seats and new turf installation. Athletic director Ross Bjork framed the project as a modernization step that preserves the venue's traditions while enhancing the game-day experience. The Buckeyes band will relocate from the south end zone to accommodate the premium seating.
Ohio State enters the season atop the AP Top 25 with quarterback Julian Sayin and wide receiver Jeremiah Smith returning. The team faces a demanding slate featuring road games at Texas, Indiana, USC, and Iowa, plus home matchups against Oregon and Michigan. The suites remain under construction ahead of the Sept. 5 opener.
This premium seating trend may widen the gap between wealthy fans and average attendees, potentially reshaping who can access the most desirable game-day experiences. It could also influence how other major programs approach stadium upgrades, as schools seek new revenue streams amid rising athletic budgets. The pricing may spark discussion about affordability in college sports, though demand for such amenities typically remains strong given the cultural significance of top-tier football programs.
