RTX 5080 Gaming PC Hits $2,350 at Best Buy in Limited Deal
Best Buy is offering the HP OMEN 35L gaming PC with an RTX 5080, Intel Core i7-14700F, 32GB RAM, and 1TB SSD for $2,349.99, a $750 discount. The deal includes free shipping and is described as the lowest price for this configuration in months. The RTX 5080 is capable of running demanding games at 4K with high settings.
The HP OMEN 35L configuration pairs a 20-core Intel Core i7-14700F with the RTX 5080's 16GB of VRAM, alongside 32GB of DDR5-6000MHz memory and a 1TB SSD. Cooling comes from a 240mm liquid loop, while an 850W 80Plus Gold power supply handles the system's draw. The $750 markdown brings the total to $2,349.99, representing a 24% reduction from the original $3,099.99 asking price.
The RTX 5080 sits just below the flagship RTX 5090 in Nvidia's current lineup, with the RTX 4090 now discontinued. According to the article, DLSS 4.5 enhancements to multi-frame generation and upscaling make high-refresh 4K gaming achievable, with support expanding across upcoming titles like Doom: The Dark Ages, Battlefield 6, and Death Stranding 2. The author notes this is the strongest discount observed on this GPU tier in recent months.
This deal could signal shifting dynamics in the high-end PC market, where RTX 5080 prebuilts have rarely seen meaningful discounts. For consumers, a $750 reduction makes 4K-capable hardware more accessible, potentially accelerating adoption of demanding titles and ray-traced experiences. However, the limited nature of the offer may create urgency-driven purchasing, and the i7-14700F's aging platform could affect long-term upgrade paths. Budget-conscious gamers may benefit most, while competitors might respond with similar price adjustments.
