Gonzaga Secures Commitment from Transfer Point Guard Xaivian Lee

Xaivian Lee, a transfer from Florida, has committed to Gonzaga after receiving a fifth year of eligibility through a court ruling. The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 11.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.2 assists last season. He is expected to start for the Bulldogs, placing them in national championship contention.

Lee's collegiate path began at Princeton, where he spent three seasons in the Ivy League before transferring to Florida for his senior year. His Florida campaign featured a strong assist-to-turnover ratio of 4.2 to 1.7, though his three-point shooting fell to a career-low 29.2% before improving to 34.5% over the final 18 games. He also gained professional exposure through NBA Summer League participation with the Cavaliers.

The California court ruling that granted Lee eligibility also opened a seven-day transfer window for 73 student-athletes, allowing him to move freely from Florida to Gonzaga. He joins fellow newcomers Wiggins and St. Francis transfer Skylar Wicks, forming a perimeter group that complements returning frontcourt pieces Braden Huff and Massamba Diop.
