Iowa Senate candidate rejects Harris backing, citing need for fresh leadership

Iowa Democratic Senate nominee Josh Turek declined the prospect of former Vice President Kamala Harris campaigning for him, responding simply "No" when asked at a Cedar Rapids event. He joins other red-state Democrats, including Iowa gubernatorial candidate Rob Sand and Alaska's Mary Peltola, in distancing themselves from Harris. Turek, a state representative and Paralympic gold medalist, previously received an endorsement from former President Obama last month.
