Curcumin shows promise in reducing diabetes-related vascular damage in rats

In a rat model of Type 1 diabetes, curcumin treatment reduced inflammation, restored cellular signaling, and improved aortic structure and function to levels similar to nondiabetic animals. The findings, presented at the 2026 American Physiology Summit, suggest a potential new approach to lowering cardiovascular risks in diabetes, though human trials are needed.
