UK Gamers Can Now Preorder the Icon Blue DualSense Controller
After nearly a year of North American exclusivity, PlayStation's Icon Blue DualSense controller is now available for preorder in the UK through Smyths Toys and PlayStation Direct. Priced at £74.99, it ships on September 25, 2026. The design features layered blue shades and a glossy pattern of PlayStation shapes on the touchpad.
The Icon Blue DualSense launched in North America in October 2025, leaving UK players waiting roughly ten months for access. Preorders are now open at Smyths Toys and PlayStation Direct, with units shipping September 25, 2026, at £74.99. The design uses layered blue tones with a glossy PlayStation-shape pattern across the touchpad, drawing on Sony's visual heritage.
The controller's appeal extends beyond PlayStation owners, as Steam supports its haptic feedback and adaptive triggers on PC. Notably, the Xbox X25 anniversary controller launched for preorder simultaneously at the same price point, giving UK players two premium gamepad options to consider this autumn.
This release could affect UK gamers who felt excluded by the earlier regional exclusivity, potentially influencing how Sony handles future special-edition hardware launches. The timing alongside the Xbox anniversary controller may also intensify competition for consumer spending, particularly among collectors and enthusiasts who already own multiple controllers. While pricing remains premium, demand for the sold-out North American version suggests UK availability could drive significant preorder volume, though whether this signals broader regional parity for future limited releases remains uncertain.
