Plaud One earbuds offer standalone AI recording with cellular connectivity

Plaud has opened preorders for its One Explorer Edition earbuds, priced at $249.99, with shipments starting next month. The earbuds feature three microphones and can record up to six hours, while the charging case adds 4G connectivity and a longer battery life. The device uses Plaud's AI to transcribe and summarize conversations, and can integrate with productivity tools like Gmail and Slack.
The Plaud One represents the company's second attempt at an AI-powered recording wearable, following an earlier pin-shaped device. The earbuds themselves carry modest onboard storage—32MB combined—but the charging case holds 512MB and adds a built-in speaker alongside its 4G modem. This cellular connection is the key differentiator, allowing recordings to be uploaded and processed without a paired smartphone or Wi-Fi network.
The case's four microphones extend the recording range to five meters, compared to two meters for the earbuds alone. Plaud's AI button triggers the "Plaud Agent" feature, which routes transcriptions and summaries directly into productivity platforms like Gmail, Notion, and Slack. With a combined 36-hour battery life via the case and USB-C recharging, the device is positioned for all-day professional use.
