Universal's Halloween Horror Nights Recreates Stranger Things Finale with Cast Return
Universal Studios Hollywood and Orlando are debuting a Stranger Things haunted house and a lagoon show as part of Halloween Horror Nights 2026, marking the series' 10th anniversary. Creative director John Murdy revealed that the original cast, including Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin, have been invited back for a final walkthrough of Hawkins and the Upside Down. The attraction opens September 3 in Hollywood, nearly a year after the Netflix show's conclusion.
The Stranger Things haunted houses open Sept. 3 in Hollywood and Aug. 28 in Orlando, with the Hollywood event running nearly a year after the Netflix series concluded. Universal's creative teams confirmed the original cast, including Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin, have been invited to walk through the attraction before it opens to the public.
This marks the first time Halloween Horror Nights has adapted an entire television series across its run. The event's themed culinary offerings include El's Battery Jerky, mac 'n' cheese with peppered beef jerky, and Hopper's Recharger, a drink mixing yuzu juice, Powerade, and Monster Energy. The 2018 house notably shifted the event's demographic younger, according to Universal Orlando's Jason Horne.
The Stranger Things houses may cement Halloween Horror Nights as a destination for younger audiences who grew up with the series, potentially expanding the event's long-term fan base. The cast walkthrough could generate significant social media buzz, drawing both devoted viewers and casual fans to the parks.
