NOAA discontinues annual Arctic climate assessment amid growing strategic importance

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has ended its Arctic Report Card, a yearly summary of Arctic conditions published since 2006. The cancellation removes a key source of timely environmental data as the region warms and becomes more commercially active. The report had been used by businesses, communities, and security planners.
