United to fly new A321XLR on U.S. routes before transatlantic debut

United Airlines will begin flying its new Airbus A321XLR on domestic routes from Washington Dulles to San Diego on Sept. 9 and to Los Angeles on Oct. 1. The aircraft features lie-flat Polaris business suites, premium economy recliners, and a snack bar. It will shift to transatlantic service on Dec. 1, with daily flights to Amsterdam and Dublin.
