Manning's Son Marshall Faces Early Setback with Foot Injury

Marshall Manning, the 15-year-old son of Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning, will be sidelined for several weeks due to a foot injury, according to his coach. Manning made his high school debut last week, completing an eight-yard pass in a televised game. He serves as backup to Keegan Croucher, a top-10 recruit committed to Ole Miss.
Marshall Manning, 15, plays for Baylor School in Tennessee and belongs to the high school graduating class of 2030. His debut came on ESPN2 against Brentwood, where he took just two snaps and connected on an eight-yard pass to Antwaun Adams, a receiver committed to Ole Miss. Coach Erik Kimrey had stated after that opener that he wanted Manning to see action in every game this season, even if only briefly, to prepare him for a larger role next year.
Manning currently sits behind Keegan Croucher, a four-star quarterback in the class of 2027 and a top-10 national recruit per 247Sports, who has been committed to Ole Miss since October 2025. Croucher is in his final high school season, meaning Manning could be in line to take over as starter next fall. His cousin Arch Manning is set to begin his second season as Texas's full-time starter on September 5 against Texas State.
This injury may delay Marshall Manning's development at a critical stage, as his coach had planned to give him regular game reps behind a top-tier recruit. The setback could affect his readiness for a potential starting role next season, though a few weeks' absence is unlikely to derail his long-term trajectory. Given the Manning family's prominence, his progress may draw outsized attention from fans and media, potentially adding pressure to a teenager's recovery and high school experience.
