Taunton, a certified nursing assistant, pushed a teen out of the way before being struck by another vehicle and has undergone multiple surgeries, with recovery expected to take up to a year. The donation, the largest to the fundraiser, brought its total past $64,000 as of Friday, and Swift left a supportive message for Taunton.

Taunton, 42, was traveling south on I-95 with her youngest daughter in July when she encountered teenagers whose vehicle had hydroplaned during a rainstorm. After stopping to guide them to safety, a second car lost control; she shoved a teen clear of the path and absorbed the impact herself. She has undergone two major surgeries, with additional procedures planned, and her family anticipates a recovery period stretching up to a year.

Swift's contribution, confirmed by Rolling Stone and People, stands as the fundraiser's largest single gift, pushing the total beyond $64,000 as of Friday. A separate Meal Train has generated over $16,000 in support. The donation follows Swift's established pattern of quietly supporting GoFundMe campaigns for individuals facing medical crises, and arrives weeks after she and husband Travis Kelce distributed $26 million across 20 U.S. charities ahead of their July wedding.
