Florida backyard photo captures a summertime moment with family and dog

Trace Meek took a photo of his wife Lauren and their dog Harvey in their Florida backyard during a July 4 celebration. He says the image, with its composition and colors, captures a contented moment that would be impossible to recreate.

The Meek family has spent a decade cultivating their Belleair Bluffs property, which features mature oak trees, a tree swing, a paved circular path, and a pool equipped with three fountains and a deep end. The backyard has served as a play space for their two children, who have grown up swimming and riding bikes there without screens involved.
