Three Spurs players request transfers, De Zerbi confirms

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi said Richarlison, Kevin Danso, and Pape Matar Sarr have all asked to leave the club. The trio were omitted from the squad for Saturday's 2-0 loss to Newcastle. De Zerbi indicated the players are seeking moves before the transfer window closes.

Danso's situation is complicated by his relatively short tenure, having arrived from Lens in February 2025 under the previous manager. New defensive signings Senesi and Van Hecke have reduced his role, while Sarr faces a crowded midfield following the expensive additions of Tonali and Fernandes, who cost a combined £185m.

De Zerbi stressed that any departing player must present an economic solution acceptable to the club before a move can proceed. Meanwhile, new winger Savio, signed from Manchester City for £85m, missed the Newcastle match with a minor muscular issue and may begin training early next week.
