Lawsuit alleges Freedom Fuel stations sold fuel obtained without payment
Mansfield Oil Company filed a lawsuit alleging KRSM obtained over 1.1 million gallons of fuel without paying, costing nearly $4 million. The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Eastern Pennsylvania, stems from a credit arrangement dating to January 2022, when KRSM's leader Syed Kazmi signed a commercial credit application accepting responsibility for fuel purchases. Mansfield sent revised invoices on July 17, but the company's bank reported KRSM refused draft requests eleven days later, leaving the nearly $4 million balance unpaid.
The Freedom Fuel Network has grown from 25 stations touted by President Trump in July to 29 locations across New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The suit suggests the discounted prices that drew White House praise may have been enabled by the unpaid fuel, with a White House official noting the network is private and receives no federal funding.
