KATSEYE announced that Sophia will not participate in the Wildworld Tour's Europe and UK dates, which run from Sept. 1 to Sept. 7. The group's labels, HYBE and Geffen, said she is focusing on her well-being and will continue receiving support. Her hiatus was first announced in early August for mental health reasons.
Sophia Laforteza's absence from the upcoming European and UK tour dates marks an extension of a hiatus first announced on Aug. 7, when HYBE x Geffen cited medical advice recommending extended rest. The tour leg runs Sept. 1-7, with the group's remaining five members — Lara, Daniela, Yoonchae, and Megan — continuing promotional work, including a brief set at Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields festival on Aug. 29.
The announcement follows a similar break by member Manon in February, also for health reasons. KATSEYE recently achieved its first Billboard 200 No. 1 with the EP "WILD," which produced the Hot 100 singles "Pinky Up" and "Gnarly." Sophia's mother told Vogue Philippines her daughter has been visiting Disneyland, baking, and painting during her recovery period.
