TrustNordisk has announced additional distribution agreements for May el-Toukhy's psychological drama 'Woman Unknown', covering Benelux, Latin America, Greece, and the Baltics, alongside a previously confirmed Italian deal. The film, set in post-war Denmark, follows a young nanny who is about to marry her wealthy, older employer. A teaser trailer has also been released as the movie prepares for its world premiere in competition at the Venice Film Festival.
The film marks el-Toukhy's follow-up to her acclaimed 2018 feature, arriving at Venice with significant international momentum. TrustNordisk's latest round of sales brings the total to at least six territories, with additional negotiations reportedly in progress ahead of the festival screening.
Set in the immediate postwar period, the story centers on Marie, played by Mathilde Arcel, a domestic worker poised to marry her significantly older, widowed employer Christian.
