Samsung adds $799 Galaxy Book 6 to its laptop lineup

Samsung has introduced a more affordable Galaxy Book 6 laptop starting at $799, positioned as a Windows rival to the MacBook Neo. The device offers Intel Core 3 or Core 5 processors, a 14-inch anti-glare display, up to 25 hours of battery life, and 45W fast charging. It includes AI tools like AI Select and Note Assist, and is available in Gray and Violet Silver in select markets.
EXPANDED:
The new Galaxy Book 6 sits at the entry point of Samsung’s laptop range, undercutting the original Book 6’s $1,050 launch price by roughly a quarter. Buyers can choose between Intel Core 3 and Core 5 chips, with storage from 256GB to 1TB and RAM of 8GB or 16GB, directly affecting the final cost. The 14-inch anti-glare display and 45W fast charging are notable for a budget tier, while the 25-hour battery claim positions it for all-day use. Connectivity includes two USB-C ports, one USB-A, HDMI 1.4, and a headphone jack.
The device also inherits Samsung’s ecosystem perks, such as cross-device file sharing and using a Galaxy Tab as a second screen. AI tools like AI Select and Note Assist are included, matching the broader industry push toward on-device intelligence. The Violet Silver color option is a first for the lineup, though availability is currently limited to select markets, suggesting a phased rollout before wider release.
