Wrexham bolster backline with Worrall capture
Wrexham have signed centre-back Joe Worrall from Burnley for an undisclosed fee, with the 29-year-old agreeing a two-year contract plus an option for a further year. The move comes as Wrexham have failed to keep a clean sheet in their opening four matches and remain winless across all competitions this season. Worrall, who previously made 226 appearances for Nottingham Forest, expressed excitement about joining the club.

Worrall brings considerable Championship pedigree to the Racecourse Ground. The defender was named Nottingham Forest's player of the season in 2020-21 and helped the club reach the Premier League via the play-offs the following campaign, earning a spot in the division's team of the season. His career also includes loan spells at Rangers and Besiktas, where he lifted the Turkish Cup in 2023-24.
