Gadot Says DC's Treatment of Cavill and Jenkins Was 'Not Handled Elegantly'

Gal Gadot criticized DC Studios for how it managed the transition away from the Snyder-era superhero lineup, calling the handling of Henry Cavill's exit and Patty Jenkins' departure inelegant. She noted that while she was told a third Wonder Woman film would be developed with her, she observed the broader treatment of other talent. Gadot acknowledged the current leadership under James Gunn and Peter Safran is doing what they believe in, but expressed disappointment in the process.

Cavill's return was publicly announced in October 2022 via a Black Adam post-credits scene and his own social media declaration, only for Gunn to reveal two months later that his new Superman film would feature a younger version of the character. Gunn later described the timing as unfair to Cavill, noting the actor handled the news gracefully and requested to reveal his exit himself. Jenkins similarly disputed reports she walked away from Wonder Woman 3, stating she never refused studio notes.

Gadot also shared that she was told a third Wonder Woman film would be developed with her, though no official recasting has been announced. Fans speculate Adria Arjona may play the role in Gunn's upcoming sequel. Separately, Gadot revealed she screen-tested for four hours with Tom Hiddleston for Mad Max: Fury Road, ultimately losing those roles to Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy.
