The coaching stint also highlighted Barzal's bond with DeAngelo, who joined the Islanders during the 2024-25 campaign and recently inked a two-year extension. With main training camp slated to open between Sept. 18 and 20, Barzal's offseason activities are winding down, though rookie camp and two scrimmages against New Jersey are already on the calendar.
