Alanis Morissette Files Lawsuit Accusing Former Tour Manager of Extortion and Fraud
Alanis Morissette has sued former tour manager Keren Urinov for fraud and extortion, alleging a 'calculated blackmail campaign.' The lawsuit claims Urinov threatened to falsely report Morissette for drug trafficking unless she was hired as tour director under a 15-year contract. Morissette's attorney says she refuses to pay a 'ransom under the gun.'
The lawsuit, filed September 1 in U.S. court, stems from an incident at a U.K. airport in July 2025 when Urinov was questioned over a bag containing marijuana and xylazine. Morissette's legal team, led by entertainment attorney Howard King, alleges Urinov leveraged that episode into a campaign of threatening letters demanding a 15-year employment contract with substantial pay.
Urinov previously spent nine years heading Israeli operations for Live Nation before managing Morissette's 2025 summer tour. The singer's complaint also cites professional failures, including a hotel booking error that allegedly cost the tour $70,000. Urinov has separately filed her own claim in London on August 19, categorized as a "media and communications" matter.
