Undrafted Linebacker Hunter Joins Patriots After Lions Cut

Linebacker Erick Hunter, who impressed for Detroit during the preseason, has signed with the New England Patriots' active roster. Hunter went unclaimed on waivers after the Lions kept six other linebackers. He ranked third on Detroit's defense in Pro Football Focus grade during exhibition play.

Hunter's path to an NFL roster came through a strong preseason with Detroit, where he logged 70 defensive snaps across three exhibition games and posted an 83.1 Pro Football Focus grade, third-best on the Lions' defense.
