Amazon's Prime Video to Stream Local Games for Six NHL Teams
Prime Video will become the exclusive local streaming home for six NHL teams starting with the 2026-27 season. The Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes, Anaheim Ducks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, and St. Louis Blues are included. Each team will set its own subscription rates for the streaming packages.
The agreement signals another major shift in regional sports broadcasting, as the Ducks and Stars exit Victory+, a platform that struggled financially over the past year. The other four clubs had been expected to operate under a league-centralized production model as traditional regional sports networks continue to decline.
Prime Video already streams Seattle Kraken games locally, giving Amazon an established template for this expansion. Each participating team will determine its own pricing structure, with further package details expected closer to the September 2026 launch. The streamer also currently offers several regional sports networks to subscribers, broadening its hockey footprint.
This arrangement could reshape how hockey fans in six markets access local games, potentially easing access for cord-cutters while consolidating more live sports under Amazon's umbrella. Subscribers may benefit from simplified viewing, though team-set pricing could create uneven costs across markets.
