Lego Unveils First-Ever 'Batman Returns' Batmobile Set with Hidden Features
Lego has released a 2,269-piece Batmobile from the 1992 film 'Batman Returns' as part of its 20th anniversary of Lego Batman. The set, priced at $229.99, becomes available to all on Sept. 4 and includes a button-activated transformation revealing a Batmissile. It also features six Easter eggs and an exclusive Batman minifigure with a new cowl and cape.
The 2,269-piece build marks the first brick recreation of Tim Burton's elongated, turbine-driven design from the 1992 film. It joins a 20th-anniversary lineup that also includes Arkham Asylum and Golden Age Superman and Batman figures. The set measures over 17 inches long and targets adult builders aged 18 and up.
Beyond the headline transformation feature, the model hides six Easter eggs, including The Penguin's tracking device. An exclusive Batman minifigure comes with a newly molded cowl and cape, plus a dedicated display stand. The set's release follows a pattern of Lego Batman vehicles gaining collector value after retirement, with the 2019 1989 Batmobile now reselling above $500 and the 2024 Classic TV Series version exceeding $250 on secondary markets.
