Belkin debuts trackers with built-in attachment mechanisms
Belkin has unveiled its own line of Bluetooth trackers that work with both Apple's Find My and Google's Find Hub networks. Unlike AirTags or Pixel Tags, these devices include integrated key rings and lanyards, so no separate accessories are needed. The lineup includes the $14.99 SureFind Spot, $24.99 Loop Cable Tag, $27 SureFind Card, and $40 Wallet Stand, with availability expected this month.
Belkin's entry into the tracker market follows years of selling third-party accessories for Apple's AirTags, including key rings and holders. The new lineup marks a shift toward self-branded hardware, with each device designed to eliminate the need for separate attachment purchases. The Loop Cable Tag stands out by combining a carrying loop with a functional USB-C charging cable, while the Wallet Stand adds magnetic mounting and RFID-blocking protection for payment cards. The SureFind Card's IP68 rating allows it to survive submersion, though Bluetooth connectivity ceases underwater, limiting recovery to its last reported position. All four models support both major tracking ecosystems, a notable departure from platform-specific competitors.
These trackers could simplify item tracking for everyday consumers by removing the accessory barrier that often complicates AirTag and Pixel Tag adoption. The dual-network compatibility may appeal to households with mixed Android and iOS devices, potentially broadening the tracking market beyond single-ecosystem users. However, the proliferation of trackers also raises privacy considerations, as more devices broadcasting location data could create new opportunities for unwanted tracking, though both networks have implemented safeguards. The integrated designs may particularly benefit less tech-savvy users who previously found tracker setups cumbersome.
