Hohem's new hybrid camera splits into a wearable unit for versatile shooting
Hohem introduced the Eyepic, a two-in-one gimbal camera with a removable camera module that can be worn on a lanyard, hat, or helmet. The camera records 4K video at 60 fps with three-axis stabilization when docked, and its touchscreen rotates for full-resolution vertical or horizontal capture. The company also announced new smartphone gimbals and a wireless microphone system, but pricing and launch dates remain undisclosed.
The Eyepic's detachable camera module can be worn via lanyard, hat clip, or helmet mount, and magnetic connectors allow attachment to metal surfaces. It offers waterproofing to roughly 33 feet and wireless preview on the gimbal screen from up to 33 feet away. The rotating 2.5-inch touchscreen enables full-resolution vertical or horizontal framing without cropping.
Hohem also unveiled two smartphone gimbals: the iSteady V4 Ultra with a detachable touchscreen and native Apple DockKit tracking, and the iSteady X4 with integrated touch controls. The Mic 2 wireless system supports one receiver with up to four transmitters. Pricing and launch dates remain unannounced, though the Eyepic is expected in early 2027.
This hybrid design could reshape how casual creators and vloggers approach mobile video, reducing the need to carry separate cameras, gimbals, and audio gear. Wearable capture may also enable more hands-free, immersive documentation of daily life, travel, or work. However, its impact depends on video quality matching established rivals like DJI's Osmo Pocket, and whether consumers embrace yet another multi-function device category.
