Lenovo's new IdeaPad Vibe laptops come in seven colors and feature swappable keycaps. They are available in 14- and 15-inch sizes with Snapdragon X or AMD Ryzen AI 400 processors, starting at $699. The laptops offer up to 32GB of RAM and either IPS or OLED displays.
The IdeaPad Vibe line targets budget-conscious buyers seeking personalization, with seven chassis colors and interchangeable keycaps that allow contrasting or matching accents. Available in 14- and 15-inch sizes, the laptops pair either Snapdragon X or AMD Ryzen AI 400 processors with up to 32GB RAM, dual M.2 SSD slots, and a standard 50WHr battery, though AMD models can upgrade to 65WHr. Port selection includes two USB-A and two USB-C connections, HDMI, headphone jack, and microSD slot.
Lenovo's Qira AI assistant, also found in Motorola phones, will appear on select configurations, leveraging the NPUs in both chip platforms. AMD versions ship first in October, followed by Snapdragon models in November, with Intel options promised later. The company also announced the IdeaCentre AIO i desktop, a 27-inch all-in-one with Intel Core Series 3 CPUs and matching color options, starting at $939.
This launch could pressure competitors to offer more customization at mid-range price points, particularly as consumers increasingly treat laptops as personal accessories rather than purely functional tools. The swappable keycaps and color variety may appeal to younger buyers and students, while the AI features could nudge mainstream users toward NPU-equipped machines.
