Researchers complete full connectome of male fruit fly brain, second such map

Scientists from HHMI Janelia and Google have mapped every neuron and synapse in a male fruit fly's brain, following a similar map of a female fly earlier this year. The connectome provides a tool for neurobiology research and may help refine techniques for mapping more complex nervous systems. The collaboration between biologists and computer scientists was essential for the project.
