Serbia honours convicted war criminal Mladic despite EU rebuke

Thousands of mourners attended a church in Belgrade to pay respects to Ratko Mladic, who died in The Hague while serving a life sentence for genocide and war crimes. The European Union condemned the event, and its enlargement commissioner cancelled a planned visit to Serbia in protest. Mladic, still regarded as a hero by many Serbs, is to receive full military honours at his funeral.
