Robot.com and Sodexo expand partnership with seven-year delivery robot agreement

Robot.com has signed a seven-year commercial agreement with Sodexo Group to expand its sidewalk delivery robot services. The deal builds on a partnership that began in 2021 and covers Sodexo-operated college campuses in North America. Robot.com says this is its largest single enterprise deployment.
The multi-year pact extends a collaboration that started in 2021, marking the company's biggest enterprise rollout to date. Notably, Sodexo pioneered campus-based robot food delivery, while rival Starship Technologies has recently shifted away from university settings toward grocery logistics.
Robot.com's economic model relies on its proprietary Remi platform, which blends robotics with advertising revenue to offset costs. The firm operates over 500 R-Kiwi units and plans to introduce the R-Dog quadruped, capable of dropping packages and navigating stairs, supported by a maintenance strategy combining on-site staff, teleoperation, and AI oversight.
This long-term contract could reshape campus logistics, potentially reducing reliance on human labor for routine food runs while offering students faster, round-the-clock access to meals. For Sodexo, it may alleviate persistent staffing shortages, though it could also raise questions about job displacement for entry-level workers. The deal's success may influence other large service providers to adopt similar multi-year robotic integrations, accelerating automation in institutional settings.
