President Xi Jinping has begun a month of travel that will take him to Kyrgyzstan, Egypt, and India for summits before his planned visit to the United States. Xi's itinerary includes stops at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in Kyrgyzstan, a rare visit to Egypt, and the BRICS summit in India, before the scheduled September 24 meeting with President Trump. This burst of overseas travel follows a period of hosting visiting leaders in Beijing, including those from Britain, Germany, Canada, and Spain.
At the SCO gathering, Xi emphasized security cooperation and unveiled plans for an international artificial intelligence center. He framed the bloc's 25-year history as a model for coexistence without alliances or targeting third parties, while noting its vast territorial and demographic scale.
This diplomatic push could reshape global perceptions of China as a stabilizing force amid US unpredictability.
