Animal Collective to Perform 2005 Album Feels in Its Entirety at Two Concerts
Animal Collective have announced two live shows dedicated to their 2005 album Feels, taking place at Knockdown Center in New York on October 22 and Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles on October 24. These performances mark the quartet's first together since 2022, following last year's 20th anniversary reissue of the album. They released their most recent album, Isn't It Now?, in 2023.
The upcoming October dates mark the quartet's first joint performances in roughly four years. These concerts follow a deluxe 20th-anniversary edition of *Feels* that included nine previously unreleased tracks and demos, as well as a compilation of live recordings captured on MiniDisc during the album's original touring cycle.
Since releasing *Isn't It Now?* in 2023, the group's members have pursued separate projects, with Geologist and Deakin recently scoring a documentary about post-Hurricane Sandy reconstruction. *Feels* itself remains a critical touchstone, having been ranked 55th on Pitchfork's list of the decade's best albums.
This reunion tour could rekindle interest in *Feels* among both longtime devotees and newer listeners, potentially boosting streaming numbers and vinyl sales for the anniversary reissue. The limited two-city format may create a sense of exclusivity, driving demand for tickets and travel among fans.
