Shakira Expands Madrid Residency with 'Es Latina' Cultural Festival
Shakira announced a series of cultural events called Es Latina to accompany her Madrid concerts, featuring performances by various Spanish and Latin American artists. The programming includes a museum, literature, fashion, and gastronomy. The residency runs from Sept. 18 to Oct. 3.
Macondo Park will serve as the festival's hub, featuring two performance stages and a museum displaying never-before-seen career artifacts personally curated by Shakira. The park operates from noon to midnight, giving attendees ample time to explore the cultural offerings before and after her evening concerts.
A dedicated literary zone will spotlight Gabriel García Márquez and books that influenced the singer, complemented by author discussions and a book club. The program also integrates fashion, art, dance, and gastronomy, with a post-concert carnival planned at Macondo Plaza.
