Prime Video has ordered a fourth season of the cricket series The Test, along with two true-crime documentaries: Free Spirits: The Backpacker Poisonings and Madness of Three. The backpacker doc examines a 2024 methanol poisoning incident that killed six travelers and left one survivor permanently blind. The Test continues to follow the Australian men's cricket team.
The new commissions bring together established production partners. Cineflix will produce the backpacker documentary alongside Amazon MGM Studios, while Blackfella Films handles the other true-crime project. Meanwhile, the fourth season of The Test continues its long-running chronicle of the Australian men's cricket squad.
The backpacker documentary centers on a tragic 2024 event where methanol-laced complimentary shots killed six travelers. Eight people were affected in total, and among the two survivors, one has been left with permanent blindness.
