Two former Boston Dynamics executives, Marc Theermann and Farbod Farshidian, have founded Dynamic Creatures, a startup that designs robotic characters for entertainment venues like theme parks and casinos. The company aims to combine proven robotic platforms with character design and real-time interaction, and it has been named Boston Dynamics' official entertainment and hospitality partner. Dynamic Creatures has secured backing from several institutional investors.
Dynamic Creatures was established by Marc Theermann, previously Boston Dynamics' chief strategy officer, and Farbod Farshidian, a former research leader at the Robotics and AI Institute. The venture has secured investment from several institutional backers, including Eniac Ventures and Kindred Ventures, alongside strategic angels such as Boston Dynamics founder Marc Raibert. It operates as Boston Dynamics' designated entertainment and hospitality partner.
The company's core offering, the SnowJay platform, focuses on generating organic movement and facilitating human-robot interaction. It leverages motion capture, NVIDIA tools, and reinforcement learning to teach robots natural behaviors. Farshidian previously contributed to Atlas's more fluid gait at CES 2026, and the new platform aims to address the lack of interactive communication in current robots.
The success of Dynamic Creatures could reshape guest experiences in entertainment venues, potentially normalizing human-robot interaction for millions of visitors. If these robotic characters prove commercially viable, they may also accelerate the adoption of advanced locomotion and AI in service industries, while raising questions about workforce displacement in hospitality roles.
