French Network TF1 Unveils New Six-Part Medical Series at Le Havre Showcase
Studio TF1 is presenting its upcoming medical drama “Dr. Seylan & Cindy” at the Unifrance Rendez-Vous event in Le Havre. The six-episode series follows a Paris neurosurgeon who returns to her hometown after her father’s death and clashes with the village’s unconventional nurse. It stars Natacha Lindinger and Alice Pol and will also compete at the Festival de la Fiction de La Rochelle.
The production shot on location in the Drôme region of southeastern France. The narrative centers on a Paris-based neurosurgeon who returns home following her father's death, where she encounters the unconventional nurse who had partnered with him at the local clinic.
The series is helmed by two directors with prior credits on French dramas. Alongside its debut at the Le Havre showcase, the six-part show is slated to enter the French competition at the La Rochelle fiction festival, with Studio TF1 anticipating strong audience appeal.
This series could resonate with viewers who enjoy character-driven medical dramas, particularly those exploring the contrast between urban professionalism and rural community life. By showcasing a female-led narrative and regional French settings, it may bolster local production appeal and attract international buyers at the Rendez-Vous. The festival competition could also elevate its prestige, potentially influencing future commissioning trends for similar small-town, ensemble-driven stories.
