Framework's price adjustment stems from securing a limited batch of Micron memory modules at a reduced cost, enabling them to lower prices for both shipped units and pending orders through Batch 10. The company is issuing automatic refunds for the price gap to customers who paid the higher July rates.
The reduced pricing applies specifically to the Intel Core Ultra Series 3 configuration, as AMD Ryzen AI 300 models utilize SO-DIMMs instead. Customers with shipped DIY Edition units can request a swap via a contact form, while those with pending pre-orders can adjust their RAM selection through their order summary page.
This move could restore some consumer trust in Framework's modular pricing promises, though the fact that prices remain above the original baseline may still leave early adopters feeling the initial hike was unjustified.
