Chase Freedom and Freedom Flex cardholders have until September 14 to activate their third-quarter bonus categories. Through September 30, they can earn 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in combined spending on electric vehicle charging, gas stations, select live entertainment, transit, and United Way donations. After the activation deadline, the opportunity for these elevated rates is lost for the quarter.
Cardholders must complete the activation process by September 14 to unlock elevated earning rates on qualifying purchases through the end of the month. The simple online procedure requires submitting a surname, the final four digits of the card, and a postal code.
This quarter's selection introduces public transit and United Way as new bonus areas, whereas gas, EV charging, and live entertainment have been familiar fixtures. Live entertainment has consistently appeared in the third quarter since 2022, and the issuer has recently adopted a pattern of featuring a charitable organization each period.
